Production of ferric molybdenum
Most of the global ferro molybdenum is supplied by China, the United States, Russia and Chile. The most basic definition of the ferric molybdenum production process is that molybdenum is first mined and then converted into molybdenum (vi) oxide MoO3, which becomes a mixed oxide with iron, aluminum oxide, and then reduced in the thermite reaction. Electron beam melting then purifies ferro molybdenum, or the product can be packaged as-is. Normally, ferro molybdenum alloy is produced in a fine powder, and ferro molybdenum is commonly shipped in bags or shipping steel drums.
